Hi there, I’m Sophia. I am genuinely interested in who you are, your journey and what brought you here. It is my goal to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to share, express and discover. Together we will explore your struggles, help you find meaning as well as strategies to cope and grow on this journey called life. I use an eclectic approach tailored to your needs.
I specialize in relationships, interpersonal difficulties, anxiety, phobias, food and body image, anger, self-esteem, emotional regulation, sexuality, communication/assertiveness, boundary setting and trauma.
I have worked in a variety of settings such as the Institute of Fundamentals and Interventions for Eating Disorders and Associated Disorders as well as at the
Institute of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology of the Technical University of Dresden, Germany.
In Montréal, I have practiced within an Employee Assistance Program where I worked with people on a variety of issues mainly from a solution-focused lens. I conducted risk assessments and worked with people in a suicidal or existential crisis. I continued my training in a private practice setting where I was trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness based approaches.
I studied Psychology in Germany and have a M.Sc. in Psychology from the TU Dresden (2017). I am currently completing my training in the equivalency program of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ) to become a licensed Psychologist. I’m also a licensed Systemic Coach (CISK) with Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich (LMU).
During my internship at the Healing Tree Psychology and Wellness Center I will be further developing my humanistic, trauma-informed lens and specialize further in food and body related struggles. I’m here to be with you along the way, and provide and support you with whatever you need at this moment if it is guidance, company, acceptance or something completely different. You tell me and I’ll be there!
I genuinely look forward to working with you!
