ANXIETY

Anxiety

When your mind won’t slow down, your body feels on edge, or everything feels like too much… you don’t have to go through it alone.

Anxiety can show up in many different ways:

  • Constant overthinking or racing thoughts
  • Feeling tense, restless, or unable to relax
  • Worrying about things you can’t control
  • Avoiding situations that feel overwhelming
  • Panic, dread, or a sense that something isn’t right

Sometimes it’s tied to specific situations.

Sometimes it’s always there, in the background.

Sometimes it develops after stress, burnout, trauma, or long periods of feeling unsafe or overwhelmed.

Anxiety isn’t just “in your head”—it lives in your body and nervous system.

It often makes sense in the context of what your mind and body have been trying to manage.

Either way, it isn’t random—and it’s not a personal failure.

👉 Talk to someone who understands anxiety

Is this anxiety?

You might recognize yourself here if you:

  • Feel constantly “on edge” or unable to relax
  • Struggle with racing thoughts or overthinking
  • Avoid situations, conversations, or decisions because they feel overwhelming
  • Experience panic, dread, or physical symptoms (tight chest, shallow breathing, etc.)
  • Feel stuck in cycles of worry, self-doubt, or second-guessing
  • Have difficulty sleeping or switching off your mind

You don’t need to check every box.

If something here resonates, it’s worth paying attention to.

Our Approach

At Healing Tree, we take a trauma-informed, depth-oriented approach to anxiety.

That means:

  • We focus on helping you feel safer in your body and mind
  • We move at your pace—not forcing exposure or change before you’re ready
  • We approach your anxiety with curiosity, not judgment
  • We explore why your system is reacting this way—not just how to quiet it
  • We recognize that anxiety often has deeper roots

We integrate somatic (body-based) approaches alongside talk therapy.

This might include:

  • Learning to notice and work with physical sensations
  • Building awareness of how anxiety shows up in your body
  • Developing ways to regulate overwhelm in real time
  • Supporting your system in moving out of chronic “fight or flight” states

We don’t believe in just “pushing through.”

We help you:

  • Understand the patterns and triggers underlying your anxiety
  • Work with your nervous system—not against it
  • Build a more compassionate relationship with yourself
  • Reduce avoidance in a gradual, supported way
  • Develop ways of coping that actually last

For many people, anxiety is closely connected to how the nervous system has adapted to past experiences. You can learn more on our Trauma page.

If you’ve always felt easily overwhelmed or sensitive to your environment, you may also relate to our Neurodiversity page.

What Healing Can Look Like

Over time, many clients begin to:

  • Feel calmer and more grounded in their body
  • Spend less time caught in cycles of worry or overthinking
  • Feel more confident navigating uncertainty
  • Reduce avoidance and approach situations with more ease
  • Build trust in themselves and their ability to cope
  • Experience more moments of calm, presence, and connection

Not all at once. Not perfectly.

But gradually—and in a way that feels sustainable.

👉 Start feeling more at ease in your body and mind

You Don’t Have to Be “Ready”

You don’t have to carry this alone.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start.

You don’t need to feel calm before reaching out.

If a part of you is curious—or just tired of feeling this way—that’s enough.

We’ll meet you there.

👉 Reach out when you’re ready (we’ll go at your pace)
